What in the world do Jesus, jeans, and “Jordans” have in common? Well, these are all essentials that you can find at Honey’s Place if you are in need. HOPE Missions believes in being the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. We work very hard to follow the example of Christ in loving and leading the lost. Every day at Honey’s Place you can hear praise and worship music (often accompanied by some of our guys on donated instruments), get a cup of coffee, have some breakfast, acquire some hygiene items, and have some friendly conversation or a needed prayer.

Mondays come with an added bonus! Mondays are clothing days at the mission… which I like to call Jeans and “Jordans” Day. On Mondays, our homeless friends can depend on our team to try to provide them with pants, shoes, shirts, coats, and other cold-weather items.  HOPE Missions has been very blessed with donations of gently used clothing, shoes, and outerwear, but we struggle to keep jeans and “Jordans” (well, really any kind of men’s shoes) in stock for our friends.

Jeans in waist sizes 30 – 34 are always needed and we do run out of these sizes quite often. It’s heartbreaking to have to tell someone in need that you do not have anything that will fit them right now.

The same is true of men’s athletic shoes in sizes 9-11. While there is always an abundance of Jesus at Honey’s Place, we could use our community’s help in keeping the jeans and “Jordans” in stock. So, if your community or church group is looking for a project well, here you go!

We welcome your donations and would love you to visit us at 202 Townsend Street on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 7:15 – 10:00 am. You just might find a new friend in need.

35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

Matthew 25:35-40
