HOPE Missions of the Upstate is one of several non-profits that will benefit from this year’s Dancing for Our Heroes event, hosted by the Rotary Club of Greater Anderson on April 20.

Each non-profit is represented by a pair of dancers, who compete to raise money for their organization in the lead-up to the event. On the night of the event, each pair performs their choreographed dance for a panel of judges. While only one pair of dancers can win the Judges Choice Award, anyone can win the People’s Choice Award by raising the most money for their organization.

The money raised from ticket sales to the event will be distributed equally between all participating charities, and a portion will also go to PolioPlus.

Dancing for Our Heroes has been an Anderson staple for the past 16 years. For this reason, the theme of this year’s event is “Sweet 16”. Each pair has chosen to dance to a song from their years in high school.

HOPE Missions is so pleased to be represented by a pair of our amazing volunteers from Anderson University. Both full-time students, Carter Lacy and Bethany Milby have devoted countless hours volunteering at HOPE Missions and are now stepping out in a much more public way by volunteering to be our dancers.

A big thank-you as well to our choreographer, Anna Giles of Anderson School of Dance. We could not do this without you!
