As we step into the heart of fall, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunities God has provided us to serve our community. October was a month rich with service, growth, and the joy of coming together in faith and action.

Here are some of the highlights that showcase the incredible work God has enabled us to do through the support of our volunteers, donors, and resource partners!

Resource Partners: Monthly Collaborations

During the month of October, 121 people have used Clean Start for their hygienic needs. In the mission’s function as a “waiting room for Clean Start showers” from October 2020 through October 2024, Clean Start cumulatively has been visited by 963 unique individuals. Across these four years, there have been 17,535 showers taken!

In partnership with Servants for Sight, 24 patients were provided vision care, such as reading glasses and referrals for prescription glasses! It’s amazing to witness the smiles and renewed hope that come from such a simple, but life-changing service.

Along with some of our resource partners, New Horizons Family Health Services, Upstate Warrior Solution, and Alston Wilkes Society, we have provided support for the community in regards to veteran benefits, anger management, and healthcare.

Bible Study

Our weekly Bible Study gatherings have been a grounding force for us all, reminding us of the strength that comes from being rooted in God’s Word. Each week, we dive deeper into scripture, sharing insights, prayer, and encouragement, all led by the Holy Spirit.

Lunch and Learns with Truist and Regions Bank

We’ve been blessed with the wisdom of Truist and Regions Bank professionals who shared financial insights and provided guidance on budgeting, credit, and savings. These Lunch and Learns have empowered our community to take charge of their finances and build a secure future.

Housing Dedications

This month, we celebrated the dedication of several people into housing! Each home represents a fresh start for a family or individual, filled with the hope and security that stable housing brings. These dedications are a testament to God’s provision and the power of community partnership. This month, 9 people have made the step into permanent housing

Cooking Matters Class

Our Cooking Matters class taught participants essential cooking and nutrition skills. It’s wonderful to see our community empowering themselves by learning to prepare healthy, budget-friendly meals that nourish both body and soul. This month, we had 9 people who learned essential cooking skills!

Volunteer/Donor Appreciation Dinner

HOPE Missions hosted an appreciation dinner this month to honor the volunteers, donors, and resource partners who make all of this possible. With over 70 in attendance, we all enjoyed good food, fellowship, games, and a lot of laughter, as we celebrated the hands and hearts that keep HOPE Missions running strong.
